Abu dhabi: The United Arab Emirates has allocated USD 10 million to boost community resilience to natural disasters across Asia and the Pacific.
According to Bahrain News Agency, this initiative has been launched through the UAE Aid Agency. It will support Emirates Nature-WWF, which will collaborate with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to implement the "Community Resilience to Nature Disasters Program", as reported by the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
The first phase of the program will specifically target the Philippines, Indonesia, Fiji, and the Solomon Islands. The focus will be on restoring natural protective systems, promoting sustainable livelihoods, and enhancing community preparedness with early warning systems.
This program reflects the UAE's vision of proactive disaster management, aiming to empower communities to adapt, recover, and protect both lives and nature.
