Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the International Human Rights Committee, praised the active contributions of Bahraini youth to the Kingdom's diplomatic and development achievements and its efforts to promote tolerance, peace, and human solidarity, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Bahrain, on the occasion of International Youth Day, observed this year under the theme 'Different Contexts, Common Aspirations,' the Minister affirmed Bahrain's commitment to empowering youth as the nation's true wealth and a cornerstone of its security, stability, and prosperity, highlighting government programmes and initiatives aimed at developing their capabilities. Dr. Al Zayani expressed pride in the contributions of Bahraini youth to sustainable development and their commitment to nat ional unity, tolerance, and coexistence, as well as their role in supporting Bahrain's diplomatic efforts. He commended young Bahraini diplomats serving at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its missions and contributing to Bahrain's work at the United Nations and other international organisations, including efforts that supported the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2817 and Human Rights Council Resolution 1/61. He also highlighted Bahrain's initiatives to empower youth, including the King Hamad Award for Youth Empowerment, the Hope Network, and the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence and Tolerance, as well as the UN adoption of Bahrain's initiative establishing the International Day of Peaceful Coexistence. The Minister affirmed that Bahrain will continue, under its leadership, to empower its youth, advance its development journey, and strengthen its regional and international role in promoting peace, cooperation, dialogue, and a more secure and prosperous future.
