Commencement of Subscription in 48th Issue of Government Development Bond Through Bahrain Bourse

Manama: Bahrain Bourse (BHB) announced that as of Wednesday and according to the invitation announced by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), Bahraini and Non-Bahraini investors can directly subscribe through the primary market of BHB in the Government Development Bond Issue 48 (BHD 200 million) that has been issued by the CBB on behalf of the Government of Bahrain by executing their orders through registered brokers at Bahrain Bourse. Thereafter, investors will be able to trade the Bond on the secondary market through BHB once listed, which is expected to be on August 31. According to Bahrain News Agency, BHB specified that the subscription period through the registered brokers at the Bourse is effective from Wednesday, August 12 until Thursday, August 13. The subscription will be open on Wednesday from 9:30 am until 1:00 pm and on Thursday from 9:30 am until 11:00 am. The minimum subscription size is 500 bonds per subscriber. The BHD 200 million Bond is issued at a par value of BHD 1 per bond, while the iss ue period is 2 years from August 17, 2026, until August 17, 2028 (Maturity Date). The annual fixed return on the securities is 7.00%, during which the interest on the issue will be paid every six months, due on August 17 and February 17 of each year throughout the issue period, commencing on February 17, 2027, up to and including the Maturity Date. The Government Development Bonds represent a financial instrument issued by the CBB on behalf of the Government of Bahrain. The Government of Bahrain directly guarantees the issuance of the Government Development Bonds.
