Representatives Council Secretary General: National Identity Award and AI Integration in Parliamentary Work

Manama: Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary General of the Council of Representatives, announced that in line with the Royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the themes highlighted in His Majesty's Royal Speech at the opening of the fourth session of the sixth legislative term, Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, has instructed the Secretariat-General to launch the Council of Representatives Award for National Identity and to further expand the use of artificial intelligence in parliamentary work.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Buainain said that the award reflects the Council's commitment to strengthening national identity, preserving Bahrain's cultural values, and promoting community engagement. He noted that the award will recognise outstanding contributions to promoting Bahraini identity, with its details and target groups, including youth, institutions, and individuals, to be announced soon.

He added that the Secretariat-General continues to implement a range of artificial intelligence and digital transformation initiatives to support legislative and oversight work, building on the success of the Council's previous digital projects launched during the sixth legislative term. These initiatives, which earned recognition from the Inter-Parliamentary Union and other parliaments, have enhanced the efficiency of parliamentary work and contributed to Bahrain's ongoing development efforts.

The Secretary-General praised the dedication and expertise of Bahraini professionals working within the Secretariat-General as part of "Team Bahrain", noting their continuous efforts to advance national objectives. He also reaffirmed the Secretariat's commitment to spreading parliamentary awareness and strengthening civic engagement, in partnership with national institutions, civil society, and the media.
