Awali: The National Resilience Documentation Committee convened its inaugural meeting, chaired by Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications. Dr. Al Khalifa also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) and leads the committee. The session took place at Derasat's headquarters, with various committee members in attendance representing relevant entities.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the committee members expressed their gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for establishing the National Resilience Documentation Committee through Order (20) of 2026. This initiative aims to monitor and document the Iranian attacks that Bahrain has encountered.
The committee reaffirmed its dedication to achieving its objectives by strengthening the national narrative and documenting resilience, defence, and societal and institutional solidarity. This effort aligns with the leadership of His Majesty the King and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed emphasized that the Royal speeches and directives reflect national principles and Islamic values that foster loyalty, belonging, and community partnership. He noted Bahrain's commitment to peace and coexistence, highlighting how the Kingdom has maintained its security and protected its sovereignty against Iranian attacks that disregard international conventions and laws.
He further recognized the collective support demonstrated by Bahrainis towards the Kingdom's leadership. Dr. Al Khalifa also commended the efforts of the Bahrain Defence Force, the National Guard, the Ministry of Interior, and other security agencies in addressing the Iranian threats and safeguarding the Kingdom's security, stability, sovereignty, and national achievements.
The meeting covered the mechanisms for executing the committee's mandate, focusing on the documentation of Iranian attacks on Bahrain. It also reviewed the framework for the National Resilience documentation project and approved the executive plan. This encompasses the standards for collecting, documenting, classifying, and preserving material, and deciding what can be published and shared under the State Information and Documents Protection Law, before finalizing the outcomes.
