Morocco: Abdulla Mohamed Alahmed, CEO of the Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat), participated in the 17th MEDays Forum 2025, held in Morocco, under the theme: "Divisions and Polarisation: Reinventing the Global Equation."
According to Bahrain News Agency, the forum was held under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco, with broad participation from heads of state and government, decision-makers, and experts from around the world. Alahmed took part in a session titled "The Hidden Battlefield: Hybrid Wars and the Politics of Influence," where he highlighted the rapid transformations in modern conflict, noting that confrontation is no longer confined to military domains but has expanded into the cyber, informational, and economic spheres, where advanced technologies and narratives are used as tools of influence and destabilisation.
He emphasised that addressing hybrid threats requires stronger regional cooperation and enhanced digital defence capabilities, noting that Bahrain presents an advanced model through its national resilience initiatives and its commitment to diplomacy and good governance, grounded in the conviction that stability is the basis of development and sustainable security. He affirmed that Bahrain's non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for 2026-2027 offers an important opportunity to deepen dialogue and support regional and international stability.
On the sidelines of the forum, meetings were also held with several heads of research and study centres, international institutions, and organisations, during which areas of mutual interest were discussed. The forum is considered a leading global intellectual dialogue platform on international political and economic issues. It is organised annually by the Amadeus Institute of Morocco and brings together more than 300 speakers and around 7,000 participants from over 100 countries.
