NIHR Chairman Highlights Bahrain’s Progress in Women’s Rights

Manama: Ali Ahmed Al Derazi, Chairman of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), commended Bahrain's legislative progress and sustained efforts to protect and promote women's rights, with the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the guidance of the Supreme Council for Women, led by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of HM the King.

According to Bahrain News Agency, speaking on the occasion of Bahraini Women's Day, observed annually on December 1, Al Derazi described the celebration as a national recognition of Bahraini women's pivotal role as partners in sustainable development and contributors to national progress and innovation.

He underscored NIHR's commitment to empowering women and safeguarding their rights, urging government bodies, the private sector, and civil society to continue promoting gender equality, integrating women's needs into national policies, and creating equal opportunities that foster sustainable development, innovation, and societal prosperity.
