Speaker Receives Jordanian Senate Delegation

Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, received the Jordanian Senate delegation, which included Ahmad Tbaishat, Chairman of the Legal Committee in the Senate, Haya Al Qaraleh, and Sultan Al Jazi, on the sidelines of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly meeting in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Speaker Al Musallam emphasised the longstanding Bahraini-Jordanian ties and relations, noting their strong integration and mutual understanding, and ongoing cooperation and coordination, supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty King Abdulla II Ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and under the support and directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Royal Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince of Jordan.

The Speaker commended the progress and development of cooperation, work, and strategic partnerships that achieve the mutual interests of the two countries, noting parliamentary interest in advancing further successes and qualitative bilateral development projects. He also commended the efforts of Faisal Akef Al Fayez, President of the Jordanian Senate, in supporting Bahraini-Jordanian parliamentary cooperation and his commitment to developing the Asian parliamentary work system.

On their part, the Jordanian delegation conveyed greetings from Senate President Al Fayez and his wishes for the success of the APA meeting, emphasising the shared and aligned positions of the two countries in supporting efforts for security, peace, development, and stability in the region. The Jordanian delegation also expressed its pride in the depth of Bahraini-Jordanian relations and the cooperation, coordination, understanding, and integration across all domains, and its appreciation of the shared parliamentary commitment to enhance relations and support levels of bilateral cooperation that benefit both countries and peoples.
