Oil Minister Engages with US Official on Nuclear Energy Cooperation

Manama: Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dainah, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, welcomed Ann Ganzer, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Arms Control and Nonproliferation at the United States Department of State, in a meeting that underscored the strategic partnership between Bahrain and the United States.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussion focused on the collaboration between the two nations in advanced technology sectors, particularly emphasizing the peaceful and secure application of nuclear energy. The conversation highlighted Bahrain's involvement with the Foundational Infrastructure for the Responsible Use of Small Modular Reactor Technology (FIRST) program. This initiative is critical for developing the necessary institutional and technical infrastructure to consider nuclear energy as a viable option for clean and reliable power, aligning with Bahrain's national energy priorities and environmental objectives.
