Shura Council and Arabian Gulf University Forge Collaborative Agreement for Human Development

Manama: The Secretariat-General of the Shura Council and the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) have formalized a cooperation agreement aimed at bolstering collaboration in legislative, educational, training, consultancy, and capacity-building efforts to support human development in Bahrain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the agreement was signed by Kareema Mohammed Al Abbasi, Secretary General of the Shura Council, and Dr. Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid, President of AGU. Al Abbasi stated that this agreement is part of the Secretariat-General's continuous efforts to collaborate with prominent academic institutions. The focus is on institutional development, digital transformation support, research enhancement, and skill development for national staff in the outlined areas.

Al Abbasi further noted AGU's stature as a leading educational institution both locally and internationally. She emphasized that the agreement would enhance the Secretariat-General's work through AGU's academic expertise and research. The partnership will also provide university students with insights into parliamentary processes and foster legislative awareness through exchange visits and participation in community initiatives, such as the Digital Innovation in Parliamentary Work competition.

Dr. Al Fuhaid highlighted that the agreement establishes a framework for utilizing academic and scientific expertise to support Bahrain's legislative process. He reaffirmed the university's commitment to deploying its academic and research resources in developing initiatives that advance the legislative environment, reflecting the synergy between the academic and parliamentary sectors in driving sustainable development.

This agreement extends an ongoing partnership between the Shura Council and AGU, which has previously included joint training courses, exchange visits, and conference participation organized by both entities in recent years.
