Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received Engineer Ahmed Al Ebrahim, Chief Executive Officer of the Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority (GCCIA), at the Ministry's headquarters. The meeting focused on pivotal topics surrounding energy security and sustainability within the region, emphasizing the role of the Gulf electricity interconnection project in facilitating comprehensive development among member states.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussions highlighted the GCCIA's ongoing efforts to bolster energy security across the Gulf region. Both parties explored avenues to enhance cooperation and coordination between Bahrain and the GCCIA, aiming to strengthen the impact of the electricity interconnection project.
The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Saeed Abdul Khaliq, Director of the Coordination and Follow-up Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who played a role in the discussions. The engagement underscores Bahrain's commitment to regional collaboration in advancing shared energy goals.
