RHF Joins UNIDO’s Meeting on Industrial Recovery Efforts in Syria, Palestine, and Sudan

Manama: Ebrahim Dalhan Aldoseri, Acting Secretary General of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), participated in the high-level meeting organised by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) at the Vienna International Centre in the Republic of Austria. The meeting focused on advancing private sector-led industrial recovery efforts in the Syrian Arab Republic, the State of Palestine, and the Republic of the Sudan.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting brought together representatives from governments, the private sector, humanitarian and charitable organisations, and development partners to discuss practical pathways for supporting economic recovery, rebuilding productive capacities, strengthening livelihoods, and fostering long-term stability in the targeted countries.

Participants reviewed national priorities for industrial recovery in the three countries, mechanisms for mobilising international support, and opportunities to establish effective partnerships aimed at revitalising productive sectors in a manner that promotes sustainable economic and social development.

During the meeting, Aldoseri delivered a keynote address, emphasizing that investing in people remains the cornerstone of building resilient societies capable of overcoming challenges and achieving sustainable development amid the rapidly evolving humanitarian and development landscape.

He noted that the RHF embarked on its humanitarian journey twenty-five years ago and has since evolved into a leading national model in humanitarian and development work. Since its establishment, the Foundation has provided services to more than 32,000 orphans and widows through integrated programmes covering education, healthcare, psychological and social support, as well as economic empowerment initiatives.

He further explained that the Foundation's efforts extend beyond the provision of emergency humanitarian assistance to include the implementation of sustainable development projects in the fields of education, healthcare, housing, reconstruction, and capacity building across 17 countries worldwide, including Palestine, Syria, and Sudan. These initiatives have contributed to supporting affected communities and strengthening their resilience, recovery, and long-term stability.

The Acting Secretary-General reaffirmed the RHF's commitment to expanding its cooperation with United Nations organizations, international institutions, and development partners in support of initiatives aimed at building a safer, more stable, and more prosperous future for communities affected by crises.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Aldoseri held a series of bilateral meetings with Salah Abdel Shafi, Ambassador of the State of Palestine; Magdi Ahmed Mofadal Al Nour, Ambassador of the Republic of the Sudan; and Hassan Khaddour, Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic.

The meetings reviewed the RHF's humanitarian and relief initiatives implemented since its establishment, while also exploring opportunities for future collaboration in delivering joint development programmes and initiatives.

Discussions also highlighted the importance of expanding sustainable projects that promote economic recovery, entrepreneurship, and improved livelihoods for the most vulnerable communities. Such initiatives aim to enable beneficiaries to transition from dependence on humanitarian assistance to self-reliance, thereby enhancing their ability to build more stable and sustainable futures.
