Ombuds Office Hosts US Congress Delegation to Discuss Human Rights Efforts

Manama: The Ombuds Office received a delegation of staff members from the United States Congress, as part of their visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The visit comes within the framework of regular exchanges by congressional staff to learn more about the Office's work and its role in promoting respect for human rights in the Kingdom.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the delegation was received by Shaikh Mohammed bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director of the International Cooperation and Development Directorate, along with a number of Ombuds Office's officials. The guests were briefed on the establishment, functions, and responsibilities of the Office, as well as its public service role and cooperation with relevant national and international entities.

The meeting also included a discussion in which members of the delegation's questions were addressed, reaffirming the Ombuds Office's commitment to fostering constructive engagement with institutions and organisations interested in its efforts to support justice and uphold human rights.
