LMRA Conducts 1,248 Inspection Campaigns and Visits, Deporting 115 Violators

Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the implementation of 1,248 inspection campaigns and visits from 9 to 15 February 2025, which resulted in the detention of 45 violating and irregular workers, while 115 violators were deported.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the inspection campaigns and visits also led to the monitoring of several violations related to the provisions of various regulating laws, particularly the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Legal measures were taken concerning the observed violations.

The LMRA noted that 1,230 inspection visits were conducted on various shops across all governorates, in addition to 18 joint inspection campaigns. These included 10 campaigns in the Capital Governorate, 2 in the Muharraq Governorate, 5 in the Northern Governorate, and 1 in the Southern Governorate.

The Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the Governorate's respective Police Directorate, the Ministry of Oil and Environment, and the Supreme Council for Environment participated in these campaigns.

The Authority affirmed ongoing joint coordination with government agencies to intensify inspection campaigns in all governorates of the Kingdom. This initiative aims to address any violations or practices that could negatively impact the stability and competitiveness of the labour market or harm the Kingdom's economic and social security.

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority renewed its call for all members of society to support government efforts in addressing illegal labour practices. The public is encouraged to report violations via the electronic form on the authority's website, www.lmra.gov.bh, by calling the authority's call centre at 17506055, or through the government's Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
