Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. The Cabinet welcomed the Kingdom of Bahrain's hosting of the 3rd Asian Youth Games, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and commended the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in advancing the Kingdom's youth and sports sector.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet acknowledged the support of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa in ensuring the event's success. They wished success to the participating teams and athletes. The Cabinet also praised the collaboration between the Government, the Council of Representatives, and the Shura Council, highlighting achievements resulting from this engagement.
The Cabinet expressed gratitude to the Legislative Authority for its cooperation on the Press, Printing, and Publishing Law, which enhances the role of media and press in the Kingdom. His Royal Highness directed a reduction in the maximum monthly instalments for Mazaya Program beneficiaries and instructed the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning to diversify housing options to meet citizens' needs. The Cabinet thanked the private sector for supporting housing services and projects.
The Cabinet reviewed progress on HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister's directives to the Ministry of Labour to provide job opportunities for registered Bahraini job seekers. The Cabinet appreciated the Ministry's efforts in conducting interviews and offering jobs to over 2,000 citizens, employing 1,000 registered job seekers.
Several memorandums were discussed and approved during the meeting, including developments in the social housing sector, Bahrain's contributions to regional and international organisations, and the government's response to a draft law submitted by the Council of Representatives. The Cabinet also reviewed ministerial reports on international engagements and visits.
