Manama: Two Gulf Air aircraft have successfully arrived in the Kingdom of Bahrain from Turkmenistan, carrying 360 Bahraini citizens who were repatriated from the Islamic Republic of Iran. The operation was executed in accordance with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and under the supervision of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
According to Bahrain News Agency, upon arrival at Bahrain International Airport, the returnees were greeted by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Health, and Bahrain Airport Services. Comprehensive procedures, including health screenings, were implemented to ensure their safety and well-being.
The Kingdom's embassies in the State of Kuwait and the Republic of Iraq played a key role in coordinating the return of an additional 275 citizens who travelled by land. This group was transported by buses from the Iranian city of Mashhad, passing through the Al Abdali border crossing between Kuwait and Iraq, and the Al Shalamcheh border crossing between Iran and Iraq. These efforts are part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' broader initiative to facilitate the safe return of Bahraini nationals.
To date, a total of 2,383 citizens have been repatriated through these coordinated efforts, utilizing seven chartered flights and 37 buses.
