Rome: During the official visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the Vatican and Italy, significant meetings took place to enhance bilateral relations. Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, met with Antonio Tajani, Italy's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister Tajani praised the positive outcomes of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister's visit, particularly the meeting with Italy's President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni. Tajani highlighted the signing of the Strategic Investments and Collaboration Partnership (SIP) as a crucial step in expanding trade and investment, thereby creating new opportunities in key sectors. He expressed Italy's dedication to deepening its partnership with Bahrain.
Dr. Al Zayani emphasized the significance of the visit to the Vatican and Italy, acknowledging the positive results achieved. He reiterated Bahrain's pride in its relationship with Italy, noting that the visit to Rome strengthens the ties between the two nations. Al Zayani commended the outcomes of the meeting with Giorgia Meloni, which are expected to reinforce the partnership and open new avenues for cooperation.
The Foreign Minister confirmed Bahrain's commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation, focusing on regional security, stability, and prosperity. The meeting explored various areas of cooperation, including politics, economy, investment, tourism, culture, and science. Both sides agreed on the importance of implementing agreements and continuing consultation and coordination in international forums.
Additionally, discussions were held on regional developments and their impact on security and stability. Both parties emphasized the need for peaceful solutions to regional conflicts, including achieving a lasting ceasefire in Gaza and supporting efforts for a just and lasting peace in the Middle East based on the two-state solution.
The meeting was attended by officials from both countries, including ambassadors and representatives from Bahrain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Embassy in Rome.
