Deputy Prime Minister Chairs Weekly Cabinet Meeting Focused on Economic Progress and Employment Initiatives

Gudaibiya: The Deputy Prime Minister, His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. In line with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's emphasis on prioritizing Bahraini citizens in the Kingdom's development plans, the Cabinet discussed the implementation of directives from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. These directives aim to provide three job opportunities to every registered Bahraini employment applicant by year-end.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet expressed pride in His Majesty's commendation of a meeting between General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for the Follow-up on the National Plan to Promote National Belonging and Reinforce Citizenship Values, and residents of Muharraq Governorate. The Cabinet appreciated the contributions and loyalty of the Muharraq residents and followed up on His Majesty's Royal Order to develop Muharraq, focusing on preserving its heritage and historical identity.

The Cabinet affirmed the Kingdom's ongoing economic progress, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. This progress was discussed during the Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB) meeting, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The meeting reviewed economic outcomes from the first nine months of 2025, highlighting the attraction of USD 1.52 billion in direct investments from 75 local and international projects. These investments are projected to generate over 4,300 jobs within three years.

On World Teachers' Day, the Cabinet extended best wishes to Bahrain's teachers for their crucial role in preparing the next generation to contribute to the Kingdom's future development.

The Cabinet also celebrated the awarding of the ICAO Council President's Certificate, recognizing the Kingdom of Bahrain's efforts to advance civil aviation and enhance safety and security standards.

Additionally, the Cabinet welcomed the signing of an agreement to establish the International Dates Council headquarters in Bahrain, underscoring the Kingdom's commitment to agriculture, afforestation, and date production.

Several memorandums were reviewed and approved, including amendments to Gulf Cooperation Council laws, a Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Bahrain and the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies in Saudi Arabia, and preparations for Bahrain's Third Voluntary National Review of Sustainable Development Goals in 2026.

Lastly, the Cabinet noted reports on various international and regional participations, including the First Bahrain Veterinary Conference and Exhibition 2025, the Climate Summit at the United Nations General Assembly, and the Dubai World Congress for Self-Driving Transport 2025, highlighting Bahrain's active role in global dialogues and initiatives.
