Sakhir: The Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), recognized as 'The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East,' is set to host the first round of National Race Day for the 2025/2026 season on Friday, October 3. The event will feature both the Bahrain Touring Car Challenge (BTCC) and Time Attack, promising a packed schedule of racing action.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the event will take place on BIC's 2.55-kilometre Inner Track. It is organized by BIC in collaboration with the Bahrain Motor Federation, the Circuit Racing Commission, and the Auto X and Drift Commission. Racing is scheduled to start at 3:20 pm and will continue until after 10:30 pm. The event will benefit from BIC's advanced floodlighting, adding an extra dimension to the race conditions.
The public is invited to experience the racing spectacle live, with tickets priced at BD2 for adults and BD1 for children. Spectators will be able to enjoy the races from BIC's Beyon Grandstand, which offers comprehensive views of key track areas, including the Inner Straight where the start and finish lines are located. Tickets are available online, via the BIC Hotline, or at the on-site gate.
The BTCC, a longstanding national racing championship in the region, will see last year's champion, Isa Ebrahim, defend his title in a Honda Civic. Joining him are several competitors, including Moazz Elzahrawi, Ahmed Algaidy, and others, all driving Honda Civics, along with Jamal Ebrahim in a Nissan Skyline, James Taylor in an Acura RSX DC5, and Carina Abdulrahman in a Volkswagen Scirocco. The BTCC programme includes practice sessions, qualifying rounds, and two 15-lap races.
The Time Attack segment of the event will feature a race against the clock, with participants competing across six different classes. The day's activities will commence with Time Attack practice, followed by heats for various classes throughout the evening. The event will conclude with podium ceremonies for both BTCC and Time Attack.
The National Race Day is part of BIC's 2025/2026 racing calendar, which includes seven rounds. Subsequent rounds are scheduled for October 24, November 21, and continue into the next year, culminating in a grand finale on April 24.
