Manama: Bahraini women continue to stand out as a role model of excellence and innovation across various sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain as key contributors to national development, said Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) Chief Executive, Mohammed Ali Al Qaed.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Qaed emphasized the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as pivotal to the achievements of Bahraini women. He noted that women in Bahrain are instrumental in driving national accomplishments, working alongside men to enhance the Kingdom's regional and international stature.
Al Qaed highlighted the significant contributions of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King. He stated that the SCW plays a crucial role in supporting the advancement of Bahraini women, safeguarding their achievements, and broadening their presence across sectors. The council's comprehensive policies and national initiatives have been vital in promoting equal opportunity and balanced gender partnerships.
Marking Bahraini Women's Day, Al Qaed emphasized the pivotal role of women in the ICT sector. He noted that women lead major national digital transformation and telecommunication projects, efforts that have bolstered Bahrain's digital leadership and improved its global standings.
Al Qaed extended his congratulations to all women working in the ICT sector, particularly those at the iGA, commending their contributions to numerous innovative digital and technical projects. Current statistics reveal that women at the iGA hold 57% of leadership positions, with women comprising 52% of the total workforce of 415 employees.
Al Qaed reiterated the ongoing commitment to supporting the advancement of Bahraini women and reinforcing their role as essential partners in sustainable development. He affirmed that this commitment aligns with the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women (2025-2026), reflecting the significant progress women have achieved across all sectors.
