Vienna: The Kingdom of Bahrain, in collaboration with Switzerland and Mexico, has put forward significant proposals aimed at enhancing the recognition and enforcement of electronic arbitral awards to the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Working Group II on Dispute Settlement. This move aligns with Bahrain's vision of modernizing and making dispute resolution mechanisms more accessible.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the proposals submitted by Bahrain, Switzerland, and Mexico focus on ensuring that electronic arbitral awards are reliably recognized and enforced across global legal systems. These proposals were initially presented during the eighty-first session of the working group, addressing critical issues and seeking a compromise that accommodates the diverse views of delegates.
By resubmitting these proposals, Bahrain reaffirms its leadership in simplifying and harmonizing enforcement standards for electronic arbitral awards within the international community. Professor Marike Patrani Paulsson, Secretary-General of the Council for International Dispute Resolution of Bahrain, is actively participating in the current session of Working Group II at the United Nations headquarters in Vienna, representing the Kingdom and its proposals.
The proposals underscore Bahrain's dedication to supporting global legal reform, expanding international cooperation, and offering practical recommendations that contribute to the digital transformation of arbitration, in partnership with relevant international bodies.
