Geneva: The Kingdom of Bahrain has secured its first-ever chairmanship at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) with the election of Maryam Abdulaziz AlDoseri, Commercial Attach© at the Permanent Mission in Geneva, as Chair of the Paris Union Assembly. The Paris Union Assembly serves as the governing body of WIPO's oldest treaty, the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property (1883). This treaty is instrumental in shaping global standards on patents, trademarks, and industrial designs.
According to Bahrain News Agency, this historic milestone positions Bahrain at the forefront of international intellectual property policymaking. It signifies the growing recognition of the Kingdom's leadership on the multilateral stage.
