Manama: Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) held the graduation ceremony for its 38th cohort for the 2024/2025 academic year. The ceremony was attended by prominent figures including Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health; Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Higher Education Council; and Dr. Saad bin Saud Al Fahid, President of AGU.
According to Bahrain News Agency, a total of 218 graduates were honored during the event. Among them were 179 medical graduates and 39 postgraduates who received higher diplomas, master's, and doctoral degrees across various sectors. The ceremony underscored the university's role in supporting Bahrain's healthcare sector in alignment with the national vision under the guidance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Since its inception in 1980, AGU has produced 3,746 medical graduates, contributing significantly to healthcare advancements across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and symbolizing regional cooperation. The event also highlighted the university's growing academic influence in higher education, technology, and innovation through specialized programs catering to strategic regional needs.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of honors to outstanding graduates from the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences, as well as those who completed higher diplomas, master's, and doctoral studies from the College of Graduate Studies. The event wrapped up with 179 medical graduates taking the Physician's Oath, led by Dr. Ghazi Al Otaibi, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Scientific Research.
