Manama: The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Bapco Energies, a leader in Bahrain's energy sector transformation, have signed a sponsorship agreement to support "Youth City 2030." This flagship training programme by the Ministry is set to run this summer as part of efforts to strengthen public-private partnerships for youth empowerment in Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the agreement was formalized by Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, and Mark Thomas, Group Chief Executive Officer of Bapco Energies. Minister Tawifiqi emphasized the Ministry's commitment to building strategic partnerships with the private sector, following the direction of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The collaboration with Bapco Energies is seen as a significant step towards developing youth talents and equipping them with future-ready skills.
The minister also pointed out that Bapco Energies' support will enhance the "Youth City 2030" programme, aiding in its objective of improving the skills and capabilities of young Bahrainis. Such collaborations, she noted, are crucial for sustaining the success of Youth City and inspiring more young individuals to become role models.
Mark Thomas of Bapco Energies reiterated the company's focus on nurturing local young talent under the guidance of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa. He stated that Bapco Energies is dedicated to empowering youth through various initiatives, aiming to build a strong new generation for leadership roles in different industries.
Thomas also highlighted the company's commitment to this national initiative, which provides valuable learning and training opportunities for young Bahrainis. He described the support for "Youth City 2030" as an investment in the country's human capital, aiming to enhance skills in innovation and sustainability, particularly in the energy sector, to further Bahrain's economic goals.
