Sustainable Development Minister Advocates for Global Financial Inclusion at FfD4 in Seville

Seville: Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), delivered a statement today during the High-Level General Debate of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4). The conference, held in Seville, Spain, from June 30 to July 3, featured high-level participation from heads of state, government leaders, and ministers.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Alkhulaif highlighted Bahrain's efforts in financing development, focusing on the Kingdom's dynamic financial services sector. She emphasized its role in driving innovation, serving as a foundation for human capital investment, and being a central pillar of sustainable financing, aligned with the visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Minister Alkhulaif also discussed the significance of financial technology in promoting financial inclusion. She reaffirmed Bahrain's commitment to its digital transformation journey, incorporating emerging technologies and artificial intelligence. This journey is informed by a national vision aimed at developing human capital and enhancing participation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

In her concluding remarks, Alkhulaif reiterated that sustainable development is a collective responsibility, necessitating international cooperation and global partnerships. She emphasized the need for a more inclusive and equitable global financial system to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and reaffirmed Bahrain's dedication to innovation and joint action to promote sustainable development and inclusive growth.
