NCST Launches “Hub Training” Initiative to Elevate Bahrain’s Workforce

Manama: The Nasser Centre for Science and Technology (NCST) announced the launch of the "Hub Training" initiative, a strategic programme that unites 11 training institutions and institutes under a single platform to provide a diverse array of internationally accredited qualifications and advanced professional training programmes.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the initiative forms part of the Centre's efforts to support Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 by preparing a qualified national workforce equipped to meet the evolving needs of the local and regional labour markets. It aims to position the Kingdom of Bahrain as a strategic regional hub for vocational training through a unified and collaborative approach to skills development, aligned with global best practices and labour market requirements.

The Hub Training initiative will offer flexible educational pathways through a variety of certifications, diplomas, and higher diplomas. Training will be delivered through multiple formats, including in-person, remote, and hybrid learning models, enabling learners to benefit from a comprehensive and accessible experience.

The programme will focus on building a skilled workforce across the industrial, technical, and service sectors, supporting lifelong learning and enhancing the employability of Bahraini youth.

In line with its forward-looking approach, the initiative will integrate emerging technologies such as virtual reality and artificial intelligence into its training models. It will also adopt globally recognised frameworks, such as qualifications issued by Pearson UK, while forming partnerships with the private sector to ensure alignment with industry needs.

Dr. Abdulla bin Nasser Al Noaimi, Chief Executive Officer of the Nasser Scientific and Technical Centre, stated that the launch of the initiative represents a strategic milestone in unifying the efforts of vocational training institutions across the Kingdom.

He emphasised that the framework will foster greater cooperation, shared resources, and adherence to unified quality standards and prestigious international accreditations.

Dr. Al Noaimi also noted that the initiative will empower Bahraini youth with future-ready skills and support participating institutes by expanding their collaborative networks and enhancing their training offerings.

The initial phase of the programme includes agreements with several training institutions, with plans to gradually expand participation to institutes across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and broader region. This regional outreach reinforces Bahrain's status as a hub for professional training and skills development.

As part of its governance structure, the initiative will be overseen by a board comprising representatives from participating institutions, experts in vocational education, and members of the industrial sector. This governance framework will ensure the quality and sustainability of training programmes, in line with both national and international standards.

The NCST underscored its commitment to fostering a knowledge-based economy in Bahrain, enabling a new generation of young Bahrainis to enter the labour market with confidence and competitiveness.

The initiative supports the Kingdom's broader strategy of empowering national talent and strengthening Bahrain's reputation as a regional centre of excellence in vocational and technical education.
