Sakhir: Under the directives of General His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Commander of the National Guard, and following up by Lieutenant General Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Saud Al Khalifa, the National Guard Staff Director, the first Military Pace Sticking Competition was held at the National Guard Camp in Sakhir. The event includes teams from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and teams from the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) and the National Guard.
According to Bahrain News Agency, thirteen teams are participating in the competition, competing for the top positions by performing infantry movements with precision. Judging is carried out by a committee distinguished by its leadership expertise in managing such international competitions. The first day of the competition saw seven teams competing.
The competition is traditionally held at National Guard fields and at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) in the United Kingdom. This is the first time it has been held on Bahraini soil, reflecting the Kingdom's national competencies across all domains.
The competition represents a new pattern of advancement across various civilian and military fields pursued by the Kingdom under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, and Prime Minister, aiming to position Bahrain among advanced nations in all national domains.
