Riffa: Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of the National Arts Council, welcomed Sheikh Majid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Chairman of the Department of Tourism and Antiquities in Umm Al Qaiwain, United Arab Emirates, during a visit to the Rashid Al Khalifa Art Foundation (RAK Art Foundation) in Riffa. Also present at the meeting was Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa praised the strong and ever-growing ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the UAE, highlighting the collaborative efforts in cultural, artistic, and tourism sectors nurtured under the leadership of both nations. He noted that such visits enhance bilateral cooperation and facilitate the exchange of expertise in art, heritage, culture, and tourism, thereby supporting cultural and creative development within the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Shaikh Rashid emphasized the foundation's commitment to hosting individuals who champion art and culture, and expressed eagerness to expand regional collaborations to benefit the artistic and cultural sectors across the Gulf and the broader Arab world.
Sheikh Majid bin Saud, in his remarks, lauded the RAK Art Foundation's pivotal role in bolstering the Bahraini and Arab art scene, and in elevating Bahrain's cultural and artistic prominence. He reviewed the foundation's key activities and initiatives, including its exhibitions and cultural projects that showcase the Kingdom's evolving art landscape and its efforts to support artists and promote cultural dialogue among creative communities.
During his visit, Sheikh Majid bin Saud, accompanied by Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, toured the foundation's facilities, admiring the exhibitions and artworks that reflect Bahrain's rich cultural heritage. He expressed appreciation for the creativity on display and the authenticity of Bahrain's cultural offerings.
Both leaders stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation, exchanging expertise, and forging future partnerships in arts and exhibitions to further enrich the artistic and tourism sectors in both countries, thereby enhancing their profiles on the regional and international cultural stage.
