Manama: Shura Council members Nancy Dinah Elly Khedouri and Hala Ramzi Fayez recently welcomed a delegation of staff members from the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate during their visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting aimed to foster parliamentary cooperation and share legislative experiences.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Khedouri and Fayez conveyed greetings from Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, the Shura Council Chairman, and highlighted the significance of such exchange visits. They praised the efforts of the General Secretariat in advancing legislative work and its role in promoting national progress. The Shura Council members reiterated their commitment to building strong relations with legislative bodies worldwide, aligning with directives from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to leverage international expertise for national development.
The discussions also covered the newly ratified Law on Regulating the Press and Digital Media by His Majesty the King. The U.S. delegation commended this legislation as a forward-thinking measure, reflecting Bahrain's commitment to staying abreast of modern media advancements, including artificial intelligence. They acknowledged its importance in promoting responsible media practices and supporting the country's stability.
