Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the completion of 1,109 inspection campaigns and visits from September 21 to 27, 2025, leading to the detention of 19 violating and irregular workers, and the deportation of 127 violators.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the inspection efforts also uncovered multiple violations pertaining to the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and the Residency Laws in Bahrain. Legal actions were initiated against the observed violations. The LMRA reported that 1,083 inspections targeted various shops across all governorates, supplemented by 26 joint inspection campaigns. These included 10 campaigns in the Capital Governorate, 4 in the Muharraq Governorate, 5 in the Northern Governorate, and 7 in the Southern Governorate.

The campaigns saw collaboration from several government entities, including the Ministry of Interior, through the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the respective Police Directorate of each governorate, the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, and the Social Insurance Organization.

The LMRA emphasized its commitment to ongoing cooperation with government agencies to intensify inspections across Bahrain, aiming to curb violations and practices that could destabilize the labour market or threaten economic and social security in the Kingdom.

The Authority reiterated its appeal to the public to assist government efforts in combating illegal labour practices. Citizens are encouraged to report violations through the electronic form available on the LMRA's website at www.lmra.gov.bh, by calling the authority's call centre at 17506055, or through the government's Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
