HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Chairs Weekly Cabinet Meeting to Celebrate National Achievements and Approve Key Initiatives


Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today presided over the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. The session highlighted significant national achievements and examined various governmental initiatives.



According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet began by extending congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, on the 28th anniversary of the National Guard’s establishment. The Cabinet acknowledged the National Guard’s essential role in national duty and their combat readiness.



Further, the Cabinet celebrated the Bahrain National Football Team’s victory in the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup, marking the second title win for the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Cabinet expressed pride in this sports accomplishment and congratulated the people of Bahrain, commending the players and administrative staff for their efforts, which have enhanced the Kingdom’s sports reputation in the Gulf.



The Cabinet conveyed gratitude to Bahrain’s citizens and residents for their support, as well as the congratulatory messages from GCC countries following Bahrain’s triumph in the Arabian Gulf Cup. The success of the “Celebrate Bahrain” season and its positive impact on the economy was also highlighted, with appreciation extended to all government entities and private sector sponsors for their organizational efforts.



During the meeting, the Cabinet approved several memorandums, including one from the Ministerial Committee for Information Technology and Communication on the digital transformation of government services to enhance efficiency and accessibility. They also approved the quarterly economic report for the third quarter of 2024 from the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Fiscal Balance, which showed a 2.1% GDP growth supported by a 3.9% increase in non-oil activities.



Additional memorandums approved included amendments to laws of standards and specifications, housing services, and the government’s response to proposals from the Council of Representatives. The Cabinet reviewed a report from the Minister of Cabinet Affairs on the implementation of the government’s 2023-2024 program and its achievements across six pillars.
