Shura Chairman Receives Arab Parliament Speaker to Strengthen Parliamentary Cooperation

Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, received Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, along with his accompanying delegation. The meeting focused on enhancing parliamentary ties and cooperation between Bahrain and the Arab Parliament to address shared Arab issues. This initiative aligns with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and receives ongoing support from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the visit underscored Bahrain's recognition of the Shura Council's accomplishments, including its top regional and 13th global ranking in the Digital Maturity Index. This ranking was out of 115 parliaments and legislative councils across 86 countries, as reported in the World e-Parliament Report 2024 issued by the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

Additionally, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Shura Council and the Arab Parliament. This agreement aims to enhance diplomatic cooperation and align efforts on significant Arab issues, further solidifying the partnership between the two legislative bodies.
