Manama: Gulf Air has announced the appointment of Martin Gauss as its new Chief Executive Officer, set to take effect on November 4, 2025. This appointment follows the departure of Dr. Jeffrey Goh from his position as Group CEO, as confirmed by Khalid Taqi, Chairman of Gulf Air Group.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Taqi emphasized Gauss's extensive experience in airline leadership, particularly in transformation programs, fleet modernization, and sustainable growth. He expressed confidence in Gauss's ability to elevate Gulf Air's competitiveness, strengthen its corporate culture, expand the global network, and improve operational performance. These efforts aim to reinforce Gulf Air's standing as a prominent representative of Bahrain on the international stage.
Taqi also extended his gratitude to Dr. Goh for his dedication and contributions, particularly in steering Gulf Air Group through the post-pandemic recovery. Dr. Goh was commended for implementing strategies that enhanced efficiency, reinforced resilience, maintained service quality, and supported employee development during his tenure.
Gauss, in response to his new role, expressed his honor in joining Gulf Air, acknowledging the airline's legacy as Bahrain's national carrier. He looks forward to working closely with the team to further the airline's transformation journey and competitiveness on regional and global levels.
Dr. Goh reflected on his time as Group CEO, recognizing the support he received from the Board, employees, and partners. He highlighted the achievements made during his leadership, particularly in overcoming challenges and advancing the Group's transformation.
Prior to joining Gulf Air, Martin Gauss served as CEO of airBaltic, where he led strategic restructuring and fleet modernization initiatives. These efforts transformed airBaltic into a profitable and globally recognized carrier. Gauss's aviation career began as a pilot, followed by senior leadership roles at several European airlines, including CEO positions at Deutsche BA and Cirrus Airlines in Germany.
This leadership transition marks Gulf Air Group's commitment to advancing operations, improving efficiency, and ensuring sustainable growth, positioning Bahrain's national carrier to meet and exceed global standards.
