GCC Secretary General Participates in 26th UN Tourism General Assembly Session in Riyadh

Riyadh: Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), participated in the official opening of the 26th session of the UN Tourism General Assembly, held under the theme "AI-Powered Tourism: Redefining the Future," today, Sunday, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh. The event was attended by Ahmed bin Aqeel Al Khateeb, Minister of Tourism of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, along with several ministers, senior officials, and specialists from various countries.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Albudaiwi stated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's hosting of the 26th session of the UN Tourism General Assembly reflects its initiatives in enhancing joint international cooperation and establishing a more prosperous and sustainable tourism ecosystem. He commended the session's events and activities, which contribute to the exchange of experiences in the field of tourism.

He highlighted that the GCC countries attach great importance to tourism and related sectors, seeing it as a key contributor to economic growth and the diversification of income sources. He also noted their continuous efforts to develop advanced infrastructure and enhance the quality of services in the tourism sector, in line with the rapid transformations in this vital field, which help strengthen their position as a leading global destination.
