Cairo: Dr Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt, received Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The meeting focused on topics of mutual concern and explored ways to strengthen relations between the GCC states and Egypt across various domains, serving shared interests.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the two sides reviewed the latest developments regarding the Joint Action Plan between the GCC and Egypt for the period 2024-2028, as well as the outcomes of the inaugural GCC-Egyptian Investment Forum held recently. They emphasized the importance of continuing to hold future editions of the forum due to its role in boosting trade exchange between both sides. Additionally, they discussed several proposals to further bolster GCC-Egyptian ties for the benefit of both peoples.
While exchanging views on the latest regional developments, both parties highlighted the importance of supporting all regional and international efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability. They stressed that all outstanding disputes and issues must be resolved through peaceful and diplomatic means, as well as constructive dialogue among all parties involved.
Albudaiwi expressed his gratitude to Egypt for its support of the GCC states against Iranian attacks. In response, the Egyptian Foreign Minister reaffirmed Egypt's solidarity with the Cooperation Council member states and its rejection of any aggression against their territories, emphasizing that the security of the GCC states is an integral part of Egyptian national security.
