Manama: Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), participated in the opening summit of the World Governments Summit 2025, held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), under the theme ‘Shaping Future Governments’. The Secretary-General underscored the role of the UAE in anticipating future challenges, achieving sustainable development, and fostering international cooperation to exchange innovative ideas on governance and quality of life.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Albudaiwi noted that the summit serves as a global platform for nations to discuss key global issues, including artificial intelligence, sustainability, and the digital economy while formulating proposals and mechanisms to address current and future changes.
The Secretary-General commended the summit’s discussions through two high-level sessions featuring GCC finance and economy ministers. The first session was titled “Session on Structural Developments, Economic Diversity, and Their Impact on Sustainability in Light of the National Visions of the Member States,” and the second session was titled “Enhancing Resilience: Designing the Future Economy of the GCC States Amid Regional and Global Challenges” organised in coordination with the UAE Ministry of Finance.
Albudaiwi emphasised that such participation reinforces the GCC Secretariat’s presence in regional and international forums, contributing to the council’s ongoing development.
