Manama: Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, Chief of Public Security and Chairman of the National Civil Emergency Management Committee, inaugurated a workshop focused on current chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear challenges. The workshop was organised by the Ministry of Interior in cooperation with Italy-based Tor Vergata University of Rome.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the event was attended by Major General Dr. Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Deputy Chief of Public Security. The Chief of Public Security highlighted the significance of international cooperation in addressing the increasing challenges posed by chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear risks. He stressed the need for developing proactive strategies to enhance preparedness and improve response effectiveness.
Lt. General Al Hassan also emphasized the importance of building national capabilities, creating mechanisms to manage modern risks, and enhancing international cooperation with institutions dedicated to addressing security and environmental challenges. The workshop covers several critical topics, including future radiation and nuclear risk challenges amid regional conflicts, the use of AI to improve responses to such incidents, and the development of training scenarios using the latest technologies.
