Riyadh: The Kingdom of Bahrain added four new medals, raising its total to ten-five gold, three silver, and two bronze-moving up to eighth place in the overall medal standings at the Sixth Islamic Solidarity Games, currently being held in Riyadh and running until November 21.

According to Bahrain News Agency, three of the gold medals were won by Bahraini weightlifter Gor Minasyan in the over 110kg category with three well-deserved victories after strong competition that included Iraq's Ali Ammar. He claimed gold in the snatch with a lift of 213kg, gold in the clean and jerk with 247kg, and gold for the overall total. His performance showcased his high technical ability, establishing him as one of the standout athletes of the championship, one year after winning bronze at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Bahrain's fourth medal came from esports athlete Sayed Hashem Ahmed, who took silver in Tekken 8 after an impressive showing. He defeated the United Arab Emirates' Sultan Taheri in the first final but lost the second to Saudi Arabia's Raif Turkistani 2-0, finishing in second place.
