Speaker, Shura Chairman Receive UAE Federal National Council President

Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division, and Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Speaker of the Shura Council, today welcomed Saqr Ghobash, President of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), along with his delegation. They arrived in the Kingdom to take part in the 19th periodic meeting of the leaders of Shura, Representatives, National and Ummah Councils of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, hosted by Bahrain from November 11 to 13.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Musallam and Al Saleh emphasized the strong Bahrain-UAE relationship and its ongoing development under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

The meeting underscored the significance of bolstering GCC parliamentary coordination and unifying positions on regional and international matters to enhance joint legislative efforts. This is aimed at furthering the GCC's advancement towards greater integration and sustainable development.

Ghobash praised the significant role played by the Bahraini Parliamentary Division in promoting GCC parliamentary collaboration. He noted that these meetings provide a valuable opportunity to exchange viewpoints and synchronize legislative efforts that are beneficial to GCC nations and their citizens.
