EWB Students Programme Introduces Youth to MICE Industry

Manama: Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB) has launched the EWB Students Programme, a new educational initiative aimed at introducing young adults to the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry and encouraging them to consider it as a viable career path. This programme is crafted to inspire and educate students about the potential opportunities within the business events sector.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the programme is a pivotal step in enlightening Bahrain's youth about the strategic importance of the MICE sector and business events, along with the diverse career paths it offers. It is designed to provide hands-on experience and expert guidance to nearly 100 students, aged 15 to 18, from various schools including St. Christopher School, American School of Bahrain, British School of Bahrain, Bahrain Bayan School, and Ibn Khuldoon National School.

The programme features interactive lectures and activities underscoring the MICE industry's vital role in propelling Bahrain's economy forward, aligning with the Kingdom's Tourism Strategy 2022-2026, and aiding regional economic diversification. The initiative also highlights the significance of business tourism in fostering sustainable economic growth and innovation.

Lectures covered a wide array of topics such as the significance of the MICE sector in Bahrain and the region, tourism mega-projects, event life cycle management, key industry stakeholders, international trends, and career opportunities within the tourism and MICE sectors.

To enhance the learning experience, students engaged in the "EWB Game of Life", an interactive activity designed by EWB to simulate real-world decision-making in tourism and business events. This activity allowed students to work in teams to tackle strategic challenges, honing their problem-solving skills in a competitive environment.

The programme promises a special behind-the-scenes tour of EWB during a major live event for the winning team from each school, providing them with an exclusive look at client interactions, event setup, and venue operations.
