Bahrain’s Parliamentary Delegation Engages in Talks with Serbian Deputy Speaker


Belgrade: Bahrain’s parliamentary division delegation, led by Dr. Mohammed Ali Hassan Ali, Chairperson of the Public Utilities and Environment Committee of the Shura Council, convened with Edinerlek, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia, during the Inter-Parliamentary Union’s Global Conference for Women Parliamentarians in Serbia.



According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Mohammed Ali emphasized the need to strengthen parliamentary collaboration and share expertise between Bahrain and Serbia. This effort aims to support bilateral ties and broaden cooperation. The delegation highlighted the increasing role of parliamentary diplomacy in fostering closer relationships between nations, building alliances, and facilitating dialogue on mutual interests, thus enhancing official diplomatic efforts and partnerships in various sectors.



Dr. Mohammed Ali also underscored the conference’s focus on women’s empowerment and equality, serving as a venue for exchanging parliamentary experiences. He reiterated Bahrain’s commitment to bolstering parliamentary relations with Serbia and enhancing the already strong ties between the two countries across different fields.



The Serbian parliamentary delegation expressed interest in forming a parliamentary friendship group with Bahrain, indicating a desire to develop bilateral relations and expand cooperation in parliamentary, cultural, and economic areas.erlek emphasized the significance of supporting women’s political participation and acknowledged the positive impact of Bahrain-Serbia relations, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, which demonstrated the depth of friendship and cooperation.



Additionally, both delegations discussed regional and international developments, stressing the importance of peace, tolerance, and dialogue as foundational elements for development and stability. The Bahraini delegation emphasized Bahrain’s role as a model of coexistence and tolerance, reflecting its openness and respect for cultural and religious diversity.
