Manama: Bahrain and the Union of the Comoros have formalized an agreement to enhance digital collaboration and share expertise, aligning with United Nations standards. As part of the Global Digital Twinning Initiative for eGovernment excellence, the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) of Bahrain has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Digital Development Agency (ANADEN) of the Union of the Comoros.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the initiative aligns with directives from General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology, and aims at bolstering bilateral and multilateral digital cooperation. The MoU was signed remotely by Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, Chief Executive of the iGA for Bahrain, and Said Moinou Ahmed, Director General of ANADEN for the Union of the Comoros.
Al Qaed stated that the MoU signifies Bahrain's progress in eGovernment and digital transformation, highlighting its role as a leading regional and international model. The partnership reflects Bahrain's commitment to knowledge and expertise exchange to enhance government performance and service efficiency on an international scale.
The MoU includes several areas of cooperation, with Bahrain assisting the Union of the Comoros in enhancing its performance in the United Nations eGovernment Development Index. The agreement also focuses on developing more efficient digital government services, exchanging technical and advisory expertise, and initiating capacity-building programs in eGovernment and digital transformation.
Further cooperation involves official visits, training programs, workshops, and sharing relevant information and studies. These efforts aim to integrate knowledge and facilitate the exchange of successful experiences and best practices between the two nations.
The Global Digital Government Twinning Initiative represents a strategic effort by Bahrain to provide a platform for the exchange of digital expertise, support joint projects, and offer advisory tools. These initiatives are designed to improve government performance and ensure sustainable digital development.
