Abu Dhabi: Abdullah bin Hassan Al Buainain, President of the Constitutional Court, participated in the General Assembly meeting of the Union of Arab Constitutional Courts and Councils, hosted by the United Arab Emirates. Al Buainain expressed appreciation to the UAE and Mohammed Hamad Al Badi, President of the Federal Supreme Court of the UAE, for their hospitality.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Buainain commended the efforts of Mohammad Odeh Saleh Ghazou, President of the Constitutional Court of Jordan and Union President, and Boulos Fahmy Eskandar, President of the Supreme Constitutional Court of Egypt and Union Secretary General, for their role in strengthening cooperation among Arab constitutional courts. The Bahraini delegation proposed establishing a permanent office within the Union's General Secretariat, operated by legal experts and translators, to track and translate key constitutional rulings from around the world. This initiative aims to ensure member states have access to the latest legal principles and publications.
Al Buainain underscored the importance of integrating modern technology into the judiciary, particularly in constitutional courts. The meeting also addressed key agenda items, including the transition of the Union's presidency from Jordan's Constitutional Court to the UAE's Federal Supreme Court and the appointment of Bahrain's Constitutional Court as Union Vice President.
