Manama: Bahrain's non-oil exports of national origin have reached BD997 million in the second quarter of 2025. The Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) has released its Q2 2025 Foreign Trade report, which encompasses data on Trade Balance, Imports, national origin Exports, and Re-exports.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the value of non-oil imports increased by 9%, reaching BD1530 million in Q2 2025, compared to BD1410 million in the same quarter of 2024. The top 10 countries for imports accounted for 68% of the total value of imports. China ranked first for imports to Bahrain, with a total of BD212 million (14%), followed by the United Arab Emirates with BD137 million (9%), and Australia with BD124 million (8%).
Non-Agglomerated Iron Ores and Concentrates were the top products imported to Bahrain, with a total value of BD129 million (8.4%), followed by Other Aluminum Oxide with BD117 million (7.6%), and Parts for Aircraft Engines being the third with BD71 million (5%).
On the other hand, the value of non-oil exports (National Origin) increased by 12%, reaching BD997 million in Q2 2025, compared to BD894 million for the same quarter in 2024. The top 10 countries accounted for 68% of the total export value. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked first among countries for non-oil exports (National Origin) with BD220 million (22%). The United Arab Emirates was second with BD102 million (10.2%), and the United States of America was third with BD98 million (9.8%).
Unwrought Aluminum Alloys were the top products exported in Q2 2025 with BD301 million (30%), followed by Agglomerated Iron Ores and Concentrates Alloyed with a value of BD151 million (15%), and Aluminum Wire not Alloyed with BD53 million (5%).
The total value of non-oil Re-exports decreased by 6% to reach BD194 million during Q2 2025, compared to BD206 million for the same quarter in 2024. The top 10 countries in Re-exports accounted for 83% of the re-exported value. The United Arab Emirates ranked first with BD75 million (39%), followed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with BD49 million (25%), and Luxembourg with BD8 million (4%).
As per the report, Four-Wheel Drive vehicles were the top products re-exported from Bahrain with a value of BD20 million (10%), followed by Smartphones at BD16 million (8%), and Private cars came third with BD14 million (7%).
As for the Trade Balance, which represents the difference between exports and imports, the deficit recorded was BD339 million in Q2 2025 compared to a deficit of BD310 million in Q2 2024.
