Manama: The Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), often referred to as 'The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East,' hosted the final race weekend of the 2024/2025 Bahrain Drag Racing Championship, marking the end of a thrilling season. Seven Bahraini competitors emerged victorious in the final meeting, including Ahmed Jamal, Salman Al Mahmood, Sayed Mohamed Salman, Yousif Alzayani, Tareq Hadi, Mohammed Altaytoon, and Mohammed Albanki, amidst a field of nearly 150 participants. According to Bahrain News Agency, the event witnessed close to 90 participants racing in their respective cars, while the remaining competitors took to the strip on motorbikes. The quarter-mile track, part of the U.S.-based National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Worldwide Network, provided the backdrop for the thrilling races. The Bahrain Drag Racing Championship is the region's premier drag racing series, sanctioned by the NHRA and organized by BIC in cooperation with the Bahrain Motor Federation, the Bahrain Drag Racing Commission, and t he Bahrain Motorcycle Commission. Ahmed Jamal claimed victory in the 10.0 Index class, clocking a pass of 10.002 seconds at 208.85 kph, surpassing Ali Rabeea's break-out attempt. Salman Al Mahmood won the Outlaw 4-Cylinder class with a time of 13.747 seconds at 171.54 kph. Sayed Mohamed Salman emerged victorious in the 7.5 Index category with a mark of 7.962 seconds at 280.21 kph, besting Sayed Hussain Salman. Yousif Alzayani secured the win in the Outlaw 6-Cylinder division with a time of 4.924 seconds at 173.90 kph. Tareq Hadi triumphed in the Pro Mod category, registering a pass of 4.187 seconds at 290.04 kph. In the Street Fight Bikes 9.5 class, Mohammed Altaytoon clocked a winning time of 9.659 seconds at 215.61 kph. Mohammed Albanki won the 8.5 Index Bikes category with a mark of 8.585 seconds at 238.88 kph. Other notable winners included Mohamed Alkokhardi of the UAE in the 9.0 Index class, Obaid Al Balooshi of the UAE in the Competition 4.5 class, Ahmed Alsaeei of Kuwait in the 8.5 Index category, and the Saudi Arabian participants Abdulla Alshamsi in the Pro 29.5 V8 division, Khalid Aldossary in the Pro Street Bikes category, and Jihad Aljamal in the Outlaw Bikes class. In the wake of the action-packed weekend, winners were awarded trophies in podium ceremonies. The champions of the 2024/2025 campaign are set to receive their respective Wally trophies during an end-of-season awards night.
