Arab-Islamic Nations Condemn US Ambassador’s Remarks on Israeli Control Over Arab Territories

Riyadh: The Ministries of Foreign Affairs from numerous Arab and Islamic nations, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, among others, alongside major regional organizations such as the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), have jointly expressed strong condemnation regarding recent statements by the United States Ambassador to Israel. These statements suggested that it would be acceptable for Israel to control territories belonging to Arab states, including the occupied West Bank.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the collective response emphasized a categorical rejection of these remarks, highlighting them as violations of international law and the United Nations Charter. The Ministries warned of the potential threat posed to regional security and stability. The statement pointed out that these comments are in direct contradiction to the vision proposed by former US President Donald J. Trump, particularly the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict, which aimed at reducing escalation and fostering political solutions for a Palestinian independent state.

The Ministries reiterated that Israel has no legitimate sovereignty over the Occupied Palestinian Territory or any occupied Arab lands. They expressed their firm stance against any attempts to annex the West Bank or separate it from the Gaza Strip. Additionally, they voiced strong opposition to the expansion of settlement activities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and firmly rejected any threats to the sovereignty of Arab states.

They further cautioned that Israel's ongoing expansionist actions and unlawful measures could result in heightened violence and conflict within the region, undermining peace prospects. The joint statement called for an immediate end to such incendiary declarations and reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the creation of an independent state based on the lines of 4 June 1967, insisting on the termination of the occupation of all Arab lands.
