Interior Minister Commends Bahrain Open Challenger Organising Committee and MOI Fikra Winners

Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, received the organising committee members of the Bahrain Open Tennis Challenger, led by Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee and General Supervisor of the tournament. Additionally, Ministry of Interior personnel who succeeded in the seventh edition of the Government Innovation Competition (Fikra) were also present.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Lieutenant General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel, Deputy Minister of Interior; Lieutenant General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan, Chief of Police; and Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, attended the meeting. The minister praised the organisational and sporting achievements showcased during the fifth edition of the Bahrain Open Tennis Challenger, which concluded at the Police Officers Club on February 1. The tournament is now recognized as one of the outstanding sporting events in Bahrain and internationally, earning it the 2025 Best Challenger 125 Tournament Award at the international level.

General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah highlighted that the ongoing success of the tournament through its five editions underscores its effectiveness and progression, founded on excellence and confidence in performance. He acknowledged the efforts of the Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee, the General Supervisor, and the entire committee, along with the Director of the Police Officers Club and staff, for their contributions to the tournament's success.

The minister also praised Fikra, an initiative launched by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, aimed at fostering creativity and innovation among public sector employees, encouraging them to present effective ideas to improve government performance.

General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah congratulated the Ministry's winners in the seventh edition for their project Takamul by Captain Abdulla Waheed Al Mannai and Alaa Ahmed Al Balooshi, appreciating their innovative solutions and commitment to national responsibility, which exemplify a culture of innovation, development, and patriotic spirit.
