Youth Minister Inaugurates Bayt Lamea in Muharraq

Muharraq: Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, inaugurated Bayt Lamea in Muharraq Governorate. Shaikha Dwa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Chairwoman of Lamea Association, was present. Minister Tawfiqi said the inauguration represents a qualitative step in providing integrated youth environments that nurture national talent, develop abilities and empower youth to contribute to comprehensive development. She said the project reflects the vision led by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), aimed at establishing an integrated national system for youth empowerment and enabling creativity, innovation and excellence.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister added that Bayt Lamea serves as a national incubator for developing young leaders and a platform for supporting promising Bahraini competencies, in line with Bahrain's approach to investing in youth and preparing a generation capable of continuing development and achievement. The minister noted that the project is the result of cooperation between the Ministry of Youth Affairs and the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), reflecting integrated national efforts to support the youth sector and provide inspiring spaces for promising talents. She said the ministry prioritises youth qualifications and skills development through programmes and initiatives that enhance readiness and expand participation in national development.

Shaikha Dwa bint Khalid expressed her appreciation for the continued support of the Minister of Youth Affairs, saying Bayt Lamea represents a key milestone for the entity as an integrated environment for youth, providing space for creativity, collaboration and joint work. She said it will serve as a national incubator for emerging leaders and a platform for implementing initiatives and programmes that develop skills and enhance youth readiness for participation in national development.

The inauguration also included a tour of the facility and its modern spaces designated for future programmes and events, including areas supporting youth talents and entrepreneurship projects. The event also featured a poetry recitation by Lamea participant Mubarak Al Jowder, as well as an interactive discussion session to review proposals and development ideas for the Lama' programme and explore means to enhance its impact and expand its benefit in line with youth aspirations.
