Manama: Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, affirmed that strengthening national identity and preserving authentic Bahraini customs and traditions remain core priorities of the Ministry, as fundamental pillars in fostering national belonging among young people.
According to Bahrain News Agency, this statement was made during her attendance at the closing ceremony of the "Bil Bahraini" programme, held at Souq Al Baraha. The minister commended the programme's advanced standard and its qualitative youth outcomes, reflecting participants' awareness of the importance of national identity in building a cohesive society.
The minister highlighted that the programme, across three editions, successfully graduated five cohorts comprising 80 participants. This initiative contributed significantly to raising awareness of Bahraini customs, traditions, and authentic local expressions, enabling young participants to engage more deeply with their cultural heritage.
During the ceremony, attendees were given a tour of the programme's interactive stations, where participants showcased their experiences and outputs. The Minister took the opportunity to honour the participating youth, recognizing their dedication and achievements.
The "Bil Bahraini" programme is part of the ministry's broader efforts, in collaboration with the national plan to promote belonging and citizenship values known as Bahrinona, and relevant national entities. It aims to strengthen young people's connection to Bahrain's identity, heritage, and cultural legacy through interactive activities and workshops.
