Sabalenka and Gauff Progress to Australian Open Third Round

Melbourne: World number one and two-time defending champion Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus, along with American Coco Gauff, have successfully advanced to the third round of the women's singles at the Australian Open. Sabalenka demonstrated her prowess by defeating China's Bai Zhuoxuan with a decisive 6-3, 6-1 victory. Meanwhile, Gauff overcame a challenging match against Serbia's Olga Danilovic, winning 6-2, 2-6, 6-2.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Sabalenka, who clinched the Australian Open title in 2023 and 2024, is on a quest to secure her fifth Grand Slam title. She is determined to reclaim her dominant position after finishing as the runner-up to American Madison Keys last year. On the other hand, Coco Gauff, who has yet to advance beyond the semi-finals at the Australian Open, is striving for greater success in this tournament, having already claimed Grand Slam titles at the French Open and the US Open.

In the upcoming round, Aryna Sabalenka is set to face Anastasia Potapova. Potapova earned her place in the third round by defeating 28th seed and former US Open champion Emma Raducanu with a 7-6, 6-2 victory.
